Namaste! I'm Jackie Cheng founder of Chi Yoga Southampton. I am a fully qualified GP and yoga instructor in Southampton, Hampshire.

I am a certified yoga teacher registered with Yoga Alliance Professionals. I have been working as a busy full time GP for the last 10 years and it is often a struggle to find the necessary balance to maintain my sanity, my empathy for patients and my emotional reserve. 

Judging from my experience as a GP I think this is true for a lot of people in today's busy demanding society. 

Yoga is an easily accessible and effective means to improve people’s mental, emotional and physical well-being. 

The moving meditation that is yoga and the philosophy underpinning it has given me a different view of the world and of life.  It has equipped me with resilience to not just 'survive' in a demanding unrelenting world but to do so with a smile!

It inspired me to share this magic that is yoga with others and spread the Yoga Love. I believe in living a balanced life full of joy, gratitude, and free of judgement.

My teaching is focused on helping my students reconnect with themselves and find balance in this modern day society. 

I offer vinyasa style, yin inspired and restorative style classes and private sessions to help my clients achieve healthier bodies and minds, improving their overall well being.

I practise yoga to keep me balanced and sane,

to remind me to be still,

to remind me to live in the moment

and to remind me to breath

letting the rest follow in it's own time.

FUN AND FRIENDLY GROUP YOGA CLASS IN SOUTHAMPTON.

Join me for an exploration of YOUR yoga
This 8 week course focuses on loving the elements.
Everything in nature is made up of basic elements: earth, water, fire, air, and space. Knowledge of these elements allows the yogi to understand the laws of nature and to use yoga to attain greater health, power, knowledge, wisdom and happiness.  We will utilise the element's characteristics to influence our practice to aid proper distribution of energy and find balance in the body. 
We will be focusing on different elements each week taking time to give your body some well earned and much needed tender loving care.
This course is a perfect way to take some some time out to become more tuned into the elements and your own body.
Suitable for all levels of experience and Ideal for every “body” regardless of body type, age, gender, level of fitness or flexibility as yoga is not about "touching your toes!" It’s about keeping your body strong and supple and your mind calm and balanced.
